Non Destructive Testing

Visual
Testing (VT)

This is the simplest and most common NDT method. It involves direct visual inspection to detect surface defects, such as cracks, corrosion, or improper welds.

Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)

PT uses a liquid dye or fluorescent material that penetrates surface discontinuities. After acertain time, the excess dye is removed, and a developer is applied to draw out the penetrant material, making the defects visible.

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

MT is used to identify surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials. It involves magnetizing the material and applying ferromagnetic particles that accumulate at defect locations, indicating their presence.

Radiographic
Testing (RT)

RT uses X-rays or gamma rays to inspect the internal structure of a component or material. The radiation passes through the object and creates an image on a film or digital detector, revealing any internal defects.

Ultrasonic
Testing (UT)

UT utilizes high-frequency sound waves to inspect materials for internal flaws or variations in thickness. An ultrasonic probe generates sound waves that travel through the material. Any abnormalities or changes in the sound wave patterns are detected and analyzed.

Eddy Current
Testing (ECT)

ECT involves passing an alternating current through a coil to generate an electromagnetic field. When the coil is placed near a conductive material, the presence of defects or variations in conductivity causes changes in the eddy currents, which can be detected and analyzed.
